UCB Dedicates Future Site of US Biologics Manufacturing Campus in Georgia

The campus will occupy an estimated 460,000 square feet over 79 acres.

Editor’s Take: By expanding its footprint in Georgia, UCB will aim to strengthen its biologic medicine manufacturing capabilities.

UCB dedicated the future site of its United States biologics manufacturing campus in the Rowen innovation district, Gwinnett County, Ga. The campus, estimated at 460,000 square feet, will occupy 79 acres within the district.

This realizes a part of UCB’s planned U.S. expansion first announced in March 2026.

UCB and Georgia a Good Match

UCB says this will be one of the largest life sciences manufacturing investments in Georgia history. The company selected Georgia in part due to its already strong life sciences ecosystem.

In addition, according to UCB, Georgia boasts a highly skilled workforce, robust infrastructure, and top academic and research institution access.

Now, UCB will aim to strengthen its capacity for biologic medicine manufacturing in the United States.

Advancing Biologics Manufacturing

“At UCB, our purpose is to create value for people living with severe diseases,” UCB CEO Jean-Christophe Tellier said. “That purpose guides the science we pursue, where we invest, and the choices we make for the long term. Our manufacturing investment in the United States reflects our long-term commitment to patients, strengthening our ability to serve them.”

Tellier added UCB has a dual purpose of contributing to scientific innovation, highly skilled jobs, and economic growth in Georgia. With this new campus, the company plans to generate approximately $5 billion in economic impact on a $2 billion investment. This includes creating approximately 330 highly skilled permanent jobs and supporting more than 1000 construction jobs.

Belgium-based UCB counts more than 2000 of its 9000-plus workforce in the U.S., following its establishment in Atlanta in 1993. Already more than 400 of those U.S. workers are based at UCB’s metro Atlanta U.S. headquarters.

At the dedication, UCB unveiled Emmanuel Janssen Circle, a commemorative stonework installation at the roundabout at the campus entrance. This is named for UCB’s founder and his family.
